    2002 225 Evinrude 225 HO = No Oil light, more.. Need advice !

    Last weekend I was idling around the bay up at Lake Erie when my No Oil light came on. I shut it off thinking it was a fluke but aware and started fishing. 15 minutes later I started it up and idled over to the next area and it came on again. Each time it came on it was running a very rough shortly after and I turned it on.
    This happened maybe 3 times. I got hauled back to the ramp and put it on the trailer.

    I had the service guy do a compression check and he says 2 cyclinders have 25lbs less pressure plus can see metal shavings in spark plug holes and also in air intakes.

    I've taken great care of this boat/motor and it had a full oil tank. It's a 2002 Triton TR20 with a 2002 225 Evinrude Ficht HO. I'd say I have 175 hours on motor but will know more later tonight.

    Any recommendations? He thinks the piston rings are probably ruined and would need to replace the rings and pistons at a minimum. At first he was thinking it was just the sensor because he says he can see oil in the engine and the pump is working,etc. The shavings make him think otherwise. He also said it didn't go into SLOW mode or whatever its called so the cutting out and not running after the NO OIL light came on is a mystery to me.

    What do you all think?

    Did ya decarb??? Carbon is death to a 2 stroke. That's why I pay the extra for the xd-100. Wish you luck.

    What is the WOT RPMs on the engine?

    My engine can run at 6000rpm's WOT.

    Still no word other than they said it was #4 and #6 that had 25lbs less pressure than the other 4 cylinders. They were going to pull the top off on that side to take a look at cylinder walls on that side to see if any damage occured.
