    Minn Kota Maxxum cable adjustment

How do you adjust the steering cables on the above motor? My dad is starting to sit down to fish and we need to adjust his foot pedal to adjust for the different angle. I have a motor guide so the Minn Kota is foreign to me. Thanks for the advice.

I am kinda confused by your question? I mean if you have slop in the peddle you can tighten the cables by turning the phillips head under the pedal towards the front.

Thanks Mr. Jones. Also to clarify a little. The foot pedal is perfectly tight. When you stand to fish your foot sits perfectly level. Meaning depending on if you push forward or back it is a perfect 180 degree rotation either way to equal 360. Now that he is getting older he wants to sit down to fish. We are looking to lean the foot pedal to the back with most of the adjustment occurring when you move the pedal forward. Due to the way his boat is laid out we can't just turn the Head of the motor. Everything has to lay a certain way in his boat. We have to much stuff on the top step of his Lund.

In that instance, instead of going heal down and setting the cable drum, you will want to point the lower unit the direction you need to go (straight) and let him tell you where the peddle will be, then reattach the cable drum. this will however, make toe down not go back and heal down go around past back.

Yeah he figured that. But he is okay with it. He just wants to be comfotable. Thanks again Mr. Jones.
