    24 volt wire gauge?

Switching to a 24 volt bow mount on a tracker pro 17. Will the 8 ga. factory wires handle the 24 volt system or do I need to pull new 6 ga. wires?

Re: 24 volt wire gauge? (stump bumper)

It may depend on the motor, but most of the time you need to go to a larger breaker for a 24V motor, and that usually means you need to go to 6 gauge wire too.

Which motor are you going to?

Just ordered a minn kota maxxum 70 bow mount and a 60 amp circuit breaker. Sure would be a lot easier if I didn't have to pull new wires, But I'll do what I have to do.

You can't run the 60A breaker on the #8.
