Spare tire and rim size?
Looking for some help. Would like to know what size spare tire, rim size, and bolt pattern is on the 2006 SC dual axle trailers. It is the trailer that came with Champion at the time. Is it a full size spare?
Also I was wondering how it is attached to the front. The trailer has a bar with a hole in the center for the tire to sit on but I dont have a clue how it attaches to it. A picture would do wonders for me.
Anyone have additional help would be great too.
Gimmie until tomorrow evening ,mine is a 206-2006 and I will shoot you some pictures and as for bolt pattern ,I'll have to look it up . Been busy and hope I don't forget.
Yes, the spare is full size. S/B 14" for dual axle trailers. On my 2005, you simply place the spare in the bracket and then I run a locking cable thru the rim and trailer to secure it from theft.
That is good to know. Thanks Lea.
What actually holds the tire on the bracket? A threaded rod or something else? Is it something that is specific that I need to order from a trailer shop?
Lpolk, if you can post a pic that would be great.
Thank you Champion Family.
Lea, what does the S/B mean?
Do you know the bolt pattern size?
S/B is short for "should be". I do not know the bolt pattern size, but it appears to be standard five bolts. My spare lies flat in the holder and does not need anything to "hold it in". Its own weight keeps it from jumping out. I will go out and double check in a few mins.
OK, I lied. There is a rod which has like a lug nut on the threaded top. Check with any former Champion/Stratos dealer. If that fails, see contact info for MFI in the OEm thread pinned up top. They are the folks who supplied parts for the trailers when they were built in the Stratos/Champion Factory in TN.
Glad I looked under there, needs some attention. Here's how mine is mounted. http://i39.tinypic.com/27zez2d.jpg
Larry, does that have a lug nut on the top like the ones on the wheels themselves? Mine does.
That pic solves everything for me.
Lea, I am curious as well...?
Thanks to you both.
Yes it dose Lea, kind of shame of the lack of attention I gave my spare. Never used it before, just keep it covered all the time.
