    2007 Champion 206?

I am looking at possibly buying this boat. My reservation is buying a boat line that is essentially no longer made and who would handle manufacturers warranty issues. I have never been in a Champion but from what I understand they are a great rough water ride. Looking for any and all feedback on this, the good, the bad and the ugly. Thanks in advance.

Current owners of the Champion name and molds have proven they will honor all EXISTING warranties. If the 07 has any warranties, they will be covered. The motor issues would be handled by the motor manufacturer, if warranty still is in effect.

The 206 is a great model. A member of the "beam forward" family, they are stable at rest, yet very much the Champion rough water tamer!

I know of no "bad or ugly"!!! We have a bunch of 206 owners here...they will be along!!! Would love to see you join the family!!

I love my 206. I've had people at the boat ramps or gas stations ask me if I wanted to sell it. I don't even ask how much they will give for it, I just thank them and say no. If you do buy it I honestly don't think you will regret it. Ride and Decide.

I am hoping to test it tomorrow. It seems like a good deal (20K), but I have reservations about the dealer being 2hrs away, Champion being now defunct and it has a Mercury 250xs (very low hrs) and the issues they had w/ the coils and everything is outside of warranty. Just a little gun shy as my last boat ended up being a nightmare between the dealer and hull issues.....but then again if it has tits or an engine you are probably going to have problems sooner or later.

It does sound like a good deal at 20K. As said, check it out and take it for a ride. Address all reservations with the dealer. Come back, ask questions.............It will serve you well on Winnipesaukee and Champlain.

Thanks for all the input guys. I went down to look at it and it was a really good used boat but quite honestly it is way more boat than I need. Ed R, I live on Big Island Pond in Derry and it would be going in the water and no trips to Champlain. I might be in the minority, but the way I fish and where I fish I actually have been looking for an 18.5- 19.5' boat....but the boat and price was good enough to take a ride and peek at it.

Can you post some pics or dealer info.

That is a really good deal if everything checks out. Know some people in CA that would like to have a boat like that for 20K

Nice lake, I've fished a few tournaments out of the camp ground at the end of the lake. A nice 186 with a 150 or 175 would be perfect there. Good luck in your search.
