The Marty Stewart Show! On RFD Channel.

Fastest 30 minutes on tv! Tonight he had Johnny Rivers on and it was great! It's very good every week, I wish they would make it an hour long show. Great musicians in the band and Marty can play and sing anything and usually does.
Kenny Vaughn is solid on guitar and a few others are the house band that play with Marty, and Leroy Troy on the banjo.
Watch it sometime, you will get hooked. I never listen to country music much these days, I like the older country music and I love this show and guests. I've seen Ricky Scaggs and countless others playing great music. Give it a watch sometime. Ch 345 on Direct tv. 8pm Sat. nites.

He comes up my way once a year with his band, The Fabulous Superlatives. The place I see him holds around 250 people. $$ ticket, but totally worth it.

Marty lives on Old Hickory Lake next door to Johnny and June Cash's old house. One of the Bee Gee's bought John's house after John's death, and it promptly burned to the ground. Marty and Connie were very close to the Cash's.

Marty Stuart has spent whatever life he's had "off the road" collecting country music memorabilia. They say he just has warehouses full of show clothes, guitars and everything you've ever thought about. It sounds as if he has more "stuff" than the Country Music Hall of Fame. I don't know what he's going to do with all that stuff.

And he's a really great showman and guy. He's kind'a like Vince Gill--little bit country, little bit bluegrass and a rocker deep down inside.

Good to know, do you know the story behind the turtle neck type scarf he wears around his neck?

I like the Marty Stewart Show....Watch it every week...I especially like the shows where he plays bluegrass, but he's pure country.....He started his career playing bluegrass with Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs at the age of 16 (mandolin).......He's been married to Connie Smith for years, and she's still got it, too.....In my opinion, they could leave off that LeRoy Troy.....he's a Grandpa Jones and String Bean want-a-be......just don't care for him..... A couple of weeks ago, Marty had Stonewall Jackson on.....he has always been one of my favorite country music singers........Marty is one hell of a musician, and has some really vintage instruments......Would love to have that Pre-war D-45 he plays, and that Lloyd Loar mandolin......Mercy.....!!!!!

I need to see if I can find a copy of his Rewind album. It was all Jimmy Webb songs and was number one on the charts for months.
