    Byron Velvick's Guides Eyes???

I love this first week of January as the new fishing shows come out. With snow on the ground and ice on the lakes, I'm an easy target for the series producers. However, I'm halfway through this "Guides Eyes" and just not feeling it. Falcon Lake, you bet. Big bass, of course. Purpose of the show.....kind of lost on me??
Maybe the title led me to believe it was going to be something educational. Gotta give him props for his passion though. In that regard he comes across a lot like Zona and you can tell it's not an act for the camera.

Decent show. Guide seemed like he knew what was going on, if he could just get Velvick to listen.

It probably wasn't filmed in a single day and Byron forgot to wear the same visor again.

I am watching Zonas show right now. I have to say I like Velvick's show better than Zonas.

I was watching Zona's show also, But Turned it off. Just one big commericial and not interesting at all, But thats typical for anything Zona does. Haven't seen Brian Velnick show yet, but if its like Zona I don't care to watch it.

Maybe you're right,I wear the same hat most every time I go fishing and really only have to choose the one I prefer.

+1 it is a 20 minute commercial with 10 minutes of film.

I watched it and enjoyed it just because of the lake they were on...man I would love to get on that lake some day. It was a hell of a lot better than that freak show Dave Mercer put on..that guy is......not my kind of guy.

Velvicks show is just ok. Not unbearable but I've never been a big velvick fan. Haven't watched zona's yet. But World Series of bass is unwatchable in my opinion. Dave mercers show is not great either. Is Denny and chad brauers show coming back on? I always liked that one. Of course I've been on vacation all week with my 3 yr old son so most of my tv watching consists of peppa pig, yo gabba gabba and Mickey Mouse clubhouse. If I can watch these I can watch World Series of bass

Just watched Zona's show and it just so happens I've been waiting for it since last year....Why? Because Carlos and I fished side by side with him a day before the show was filmed. Mini and Schram were out pre fishing with him. Mini brought them in to one of our favorite spots while we were there. We fished the same reed beds the day after they filmed. I can honestly say he did a fantastic job of explaining where they were (mile roads) and what they caught them on. There wasn't a single product pushed on the show, they just told you what they were throwing. Sure the commercials were all fishing products but what do you expect. If I had never been to St Clair, he gave enough information to put you on fish. Since we have been going for a week every year for the last 9 years, I will tell you he was spot on. Now that's not to say there aren't other places that produce as well but he did cover 2 of the prime patterns for that time of year. His numbers were right on as well. We use more varied baits but the jerk bait and tube are some of the best producers. Mini is an absolute madman with a jerk bait. Mark's show is one of the best out there IMHO.
