So I get a letter for free airline tickets...

This has to be a scam. It's from "US Airlines". Only a Nigerian would think of that. Second red flag is it was sent to an address that I havn't lived at since 07. My aunt now lives there so she brought it over. Here's the letter...

NOTE: You must respond no later than October 31st, 2012.

    Dear Chris,

I am pleased to inform you that you have qualified for an award of 2 roundtrip airline tickets. Congratulations. These tickets are valid for travel anywhere in the Continental U.S. from any major international airport. The retail value of this award is up to $1,298.00. Certain restrictions apply.

We have attempted contacting you several times without success. This is our last attempt. If we do not hear from you soon, we may need to issue the ticket vouchers to the alternate.

Please call me today at 1-866-673-3911.

    Regards,

(Jaqueline's signature in blue ink on this line)

    Jaqueline Simms

    Vice President

Hmm, here's a website for them after a 10 second search. Different logo though. Still think it's a scam.
US Airlines - UsAirlines.com - Find cheap airline tickets and get the best flight rates.

I'd be willing to bet 99% of the folks on the board have heard of US Air...
But it's US Airways... Maybe Jackie is confused

There's a difference between the US Airways that everyone has heard about and the US Airlines highcentered got notice about. I'd say it's definitely a scam. Here's a link to an article.

Screwing with them would be fun but don't want to even risk them charging like a phone sex number would lol.

It's hard to scam people who don't want to get something for less than it's worth.
