    Food stamps.... Rant.

I was at Sam's Club yesterday getting some things with the wife and the people in front of use had 3 buggies worth of stuff that we so high they almost couldn't see over them. There was a latino man, two latino women, latino teenage girl and 4 latino boys all of whom were 4-6 years old. These people were all dressed very fashionable, all nice name brand clothes that all looked brand new. The ladies had coach purses. The total on the screen was just under $600, most of what they had was food but it was all junk like cookies, poweraid, pizza pockets and crap like that and a couple of cases of diapers. Well one of the ladies pulls out the GA food stamp card and runs about half the purchase on that, then to guy wipes out a fat stack of Benjamins, He had at least $1500 on him, and paid the rest. We paid for our couple of things and go to the parking lot to see them loading into an almost new Chevy conversion van. Glad I my taxes help them live the American dream.....

I feel ya man, see it everyday...

I live without so I can support myself...

It is discouraging seeing brand new vehicles , thousands of dollars worth of tattoos, brand new shoes, flashy jewelry etc, buying steak with your money.

And you have your beans and rice so you can save up to buy a nicer car or pay off your house early!

yea I know what you mean. I use to get upset but not anymore. I really don't know what there circumstances are. Some will scam no matter what. I had a friend get mad for soemone doing the same thing. Had a wad of money, new car but the house was trash and that was of money was all he had. They had no checking account so he keep all his money at home..
I just hope that those who really need it get it.

When I was laid off last year, my wife applied for food stamps just to make sure we were OK long enough for me to get another job as we lost about $70k worth of income and my wife only worked part time. They told her she made $23 too much per check to get food stamps and to bring them a paystub on a week she worked a little less and they'd get it fixed. That pissed her off and she got a full time job and I worked a lot of odd jobs for 4 months until I got another good job. Still pisses me off that the system is against the people that pay for in and when we actually needed it we couldn't use it.

I feel so guilty having to use the food card that it takes a long drive in my new truck to get it off my mind.

I wonder who they will vote for in the presidential elections. If someone needs help I have no problem helping them, but most of the money that our government spends on food stamps, welfare, etc is wasted on people that do not want to work. I quess that is why we are 13 trillion in debt. I looked up trillion in the dictionary, it says a very large number.

Ok I see your point but in retrospect you really didnt need it...Its commendable that you both stepped up and did what had to be done to get by.. But if there were no food stamps, even those that "need it, for a few months" would step up and also get by...Hunger is a great motivator to get people working..All people should do what you did, I think there is too much of the well I just need it cause I lost my job,..Thats Bs, ITS OTHER PEOPLES MONEY,.they didnt agree to give it away, it was taken from them and they had no say in it.

Now before anyone says well what about the poor children, I think if parents or Parent in most cases cant feed their child 3 meals a day then they should not be allowed to raise those children. remove them from the home.

I should call my son's school & tell them to quit feeding them little bastards Breakfast and Lunch so that way they only have to feed them Supper......which is probably a box of mac & cheese or Hamburger helper if there lucky.

Hunt, you aint right, that is a hilarious remark.

My wife and I see the same type of misuse. I would like to see a monthly drug test to help qualify them. My wife works at a hospital and one frequent flyer has the "free insurance" food stamps, etc, but test positive for opiates and cocaine everytime she shows up.

But yet when some one can get one over on Social Security and collect disability payments people will come out of the woodwork in prayer Why even try working part time because that might trip you up and make you responsible for at least a fraction of your life. Paint them brown and name them Juan and most of the guys around here are ready to take their kids from them and burn them at the stake,

Why work when you can get a free ride..Take away the food card and bring back the free cheese line and watch how many start working

I have guys asking me for jobs all the time...if they can work under the table because they dont want to mess up the check the get for being disabled..yeah no thanks

On my Grandmothers grave i swear this story is true...Last week a guy comes in to buy a a f250 dump truck for his landscaping business...I give him the price he likes it and asks for an application..he fills it out and lists his employement as "SSDI" I told him I would not be able to get him financing on it because if that...He then tells me he heard it is illegal to refuse a loan to someone on SSDI because that would be discrimination Ok so you are on SSDI...but you own a landscaping company...Really
