    "best" tube hook?

Looking for a better tube hook. Currently using Gama EWG super line for Texas rig. Anyone have something better?

I like the Eagle Claw h/p hooks, the clip is great and lets you get several fish on a single tube, I use the 4/0 with 4" tubes

here is what i do...after searching for a better hook like you and not finding one i starting slitting the tube about halfway starting at the bottom and going up on the side that the hook is on, that way when you t-rig it the hook doesn't have to go through both sides of the plastic just the side you t-rig the point into. i hope that makes sense to you, easier to do than explain. just an idea, i use the same hooks you do and love to flip and pitch tubes t-rigged...best solution i have come up with.

I use the same hook for t-rig tubes. The Mustad UltraPoint Tube hook (KVD designed) is another good one.

I've been using these same hooks for about 12 years and never found a better tube hook yet and i fish tubes a lot! I typically use a 3/0 with my 4" tubes though.

For water say 10' deep or less I love these from bass pro. They fall erratically like no texas rig will and are weedless

Tried them last year, on little 3" tubes, and love them.

True but you cannot throw the exposed hook where you can the T-Rigged one.

If you like the HP hook, try an Ohio Pro Lure Sure Grip. I've used both and the Sure Grip and it's simple wire keeper is far superior tot he HP. Here's the link...I use the EWG in 3/0. Sure-Grip Hooks GAMAKATSU Hooks Shiner Hooks SUPER LINE EWG Worm Hook Buy Online

One more thing...if you order some Sure Grips, give the guy a call on his phone that's posted on the website, rather than ordering directly though the website.. When he set up his credit card feature, the bank he went through required charging a big shipping fee. If you call him, he'll take your credit card number and ship them for the actual cost of shipping.

Mustad tube hook. Pegging your weight is the biggest help to getting a good hookup with tubes. Run hook through tube and skin hook the tip on top of the tube. I flip a tube a lot and lost many fish until I started to peg the weight. Now they are buried in their skull. Other hooks might be good also but pegging a T-rigged tube is the key.

I flipped a tube into our pool to watch how it acted. Without the peg, the weight separates from the tube on the fall. When you set the hook, you aren't pulling straight against the hook. You are loosing some of the power into the bow in the line created by the sinker moving up the line. Seemed I'd loose more big fish instead of small fish. Might not have been getting the hook buried into their mouths. Whatever the case, pegging works. Bruaer does it with a toothpick. I use the rubber pegs from Tru Tungston but don't know what I'll do when I run out.

I like the G-Lock for tubes...whatever size fits the tube you've got. I used the Eagle Claw/HP hook for years, but they tear up the nose of the tube a lot worse.
